crankshaft sprocket removal
      06/12/08 08:53 PM

I've a problem with my crankshaft sprocket which needs changing.
Spec: pajero 2.5TD mkII K92 reg LWB.

It's teeth are worn down due to the pulley rotating and loosening off which it did "aaahhhh", got the pulley replaced and now that i've stripped the belts off, i'm not sure whether the crankshaft sprocket can come off.
Can it?
I know its where the lower timing belt cover is so easy to take the cover off, and have an idea that all sprockets etc are aligned in a particular way for the timing belts but does anybody know if it can be removed?
I'm not sure if the crankshaft sprocket is attached firmly as one piece to the crankshaft. Also when removing it will it interfere with timing belt.

Obviously I'm new to this but does anyone have another solution?
Probably putting some thread(whatever this is as i've heard this somewhere else) of some kind in place to hold the pulley?

Help! I need somebody Help!!
