Not to hijack your thread, but #7 sparked my interest... I thought R-134a systems didn't use a sight glass? At least when my '88 Accord was retro-fitted there was no sight glass, and certainly the factory R-134a in my 2001 Astro doesn't have one... and those recharge kits I see at Kragen have pressure gauges built in to determine the appropriate charge...
