2WD tranny how to make it 4WD????

I have what looks to be a 2WD W56 and possibly a 2WD L45. Went to MarlinCrawlers and looked up the info on the transmissions. Even the blind guy next to me noticed the differences between the 2WD and the 4WD transmissions. Do I need to find a 4WD W tranny and swap the necessary parts or is there a whole lot more involved in the process? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
