I agree with the differences in the drag link and tie rod ends. I've been running the 2027L along with the Ford TRE for my drag link setup which needs maximum angularity. My tie rod uses the actual tie rods ends which as you mentioned appear to have less angularity.

When I first started out with SRE's, they seemed simplier and I thought they gave me more working angle which I needed every bit of. However, since switching out, I'd never go back to SRE for steering components. and with as cheap as those GM parts are, cost isn't really much of a comparison factor.
