If I'm looking at the right info, the thin plate shows up in CAPS along with others - one # is MD609156 with a "T=1.4" designation, which sounds too thick - 1.4 would be about .060". Two other plates are identified, but with no "T" designation.
The '89 parts list shows 3 plates also - T= 0.4/1.4/1.8 which would be .016/.055/.071" - about what I found in the lockup unit.
It looks like it WAS intended to be there, but once again it's not in the FSM assembly sequence for either the '89 AW372 or the '91 AW372L..... nor was it supplied in the overhaul kit.... 
Whatcha think? Use it?
