Personally, I wouldn't wait that long to pull the valve cover... I'd be checking the head torque after the first few heat up = cool down cycles. Then, again at about 1000 miles. Since you already have the cover off, it's a good time to check the valve lash. You may find that the initial "seating" of the rocker arms/cam/valve stems, that the valves will loosen up a few thousandths. After that you should be good to go for a while. You might also consider doing an oil change early on, just to get whatever might have been left in there out.
