Yep - that assembly seems to take more pressure to move the spring set. If you counted the number of springs in previous assemblies, you saw that the number of springs varies... so far from 12 to 20. If all springs are the same rate (I don't know if they are), then the more springs.. the more pressure required to move the assembly a given distance. Most of the springs are the same part number, but the ones in the direct clutch have a different part number and a couple of spring sets (#2 brake and the reverse set) are complete assemblies with different part numbers - so I can't say what gets the most torque rating.
My concern after seeing the condition of the #2 brake clutch pack was they might be treated with a heat activated coating as a telltale... probably not, though. Your idea makes more sense - particularly with the different part numbers on things so similar in size and appearance.
