Quote: Could be as simple as clogged radiator(outside)
I had that thought too, but I am able to see through the radiator just fine, doesn't seem externally clogged...
Quote: Another scenario - going on a camping trip near Virginia beach on 4th of July - temps in the high 90's - truck fully loaded with 5 adults & 2 kids with 2 bikes and thule box on top with cargo basket in the rear - temp would rise up if I push my speed past 70 - lower speed and idling in traffic or just idling for food stop etc, temp remained in the normal(middle). Higher speed with the amout of weight(and the brick aero dynamic of the truck) was just too much load for the cooling system to handle.
That is pretty much what I was experiencing, though not loaded like you were and no AC working.
