i highly recommend the more power puller. it's a a super strong come-along on steroids...costs considerably lot more than a regular come-along, but you don't have to be afraid to actually use it.

(and is still way cheaper than a winch...works fine for pulling you out of the mud...and can be used to pull your truck foward or backward..)
