Ya, I'm already too old for tents. That's why I cram myself into the back of my truck instead.
Oh brother. Have you cracked three and a half decades yet???
I got one true solution for ya, bro.
Slumberjack hunting cot with a nice thick pad. Get the oversized one. Get a hunter's 'nightstand' too (the thing attaches to the cot and hangs down over the side, good organizer). In cold weather get a cheap Coleman sleeping bag as an outer bag, a good 4 season bag inside. Get a big cheap Coleman tent, like a 5 man (who rates these things, anyway? Pygmies with a second job, in the bush with no equipment or clothes to mess with?). Slip the cot in there, a cheap small camping folding table, stove & coffeepot, propane lantern on a tree, use Rubbermaid action packers for the necessaries and slip them under the cot, and enjoy the room and comfort. Sets up fast, light (relatively speaking), allows the vehicle to be separate from the accomodations, works great. Comfy, organized, nice to roll over and hit the coffee burner and wake to the aroma. Even if it IS 3:00 AM.
