The R series have the same bolt pattern (R151, R150 pre-96 and R150 post-96) on the tranny side (not the same as the W series though). The R151/22RTE bellhousing will mate a R151 or R150 series tranny to a 22R/RE/RTE, while a stock R150 bellhousing will mate an R150 or R151 to a 3.4 or 3.0 V6. Got that straight?

It's a shame the R-series transmissions all have different input shaft lengths. If it weren't for that reason, I believe one could mate a R151F to a 7M-GTE (which uses a R154 with higher gear ratios and no provision to adapt a xfer case).
