That connector is made by Hopkins, aka Hoppy. You should be able to find it at any RV parts store. I forgot about the boat, for some reason, I was thinking tent trailer. Yeah, a good brake controller will be essential to your braking performance The Prodigy has a boost button on it that will allow you to increase your initial trailer braking. At boost level zero, your trailer braking starts at 0%. At boost level 1, your trailer braking starts at 13%, at level 2, it's 25%. That alone will make a HUGE difference in your braking. I am not pushing this product because it's my job, cause you won't be buying from me, I am pushing it because IT WORKS !!!!! The Prodigy is the controller people upgrade to! I highly recommend it.
As far as the bolts, check a hardware store. There are also local hardware suppliers (at least around here there are) that you may be able to contact.
