Announcing Saturday, 25 August, Escondido
--------------------------------------------------------------------

One-Day Amateur Radio Technician License Class

Date: Saturday, August 25, 2012
Times: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM for class, 5pm to about 7pm for exam.
(This includes hourly breaks and a 45 minute lunch.)

Location: Escondido Area (details provided later)

Costs: The class is free.
The VEC Exam at the end of the day costs no more than $15 (and often only $5)
Eligibility: Anyone is eligible if they follow email instructions to register and confirm.
Age limit: None (contact us for teen and pre-teen considerations)

Registration in advance is necessary - seating is limited. (Unfortunately, we do not usually have space for walk-ins.)
If you would like to attend, please register via email to J Goldberg at sandiegohamclasses@me.com
Those who register will be sent detailed instructions to confirm registration, and study materials to review before class.
(Those who do not follow registration and confirmation instructions via email are ineligible to attend the class.)

See http://www.jsg.org/sandiegohamclasses/ or more information.

This is an entry-level class for beginners, and no previous knowledge about radio or electricity is necessary to take the class or pass the exam.

The Amateur Radio Service (Ham Radio) has practical applications from providing emergency communications and supporting civic events, to education and recreation.

Those who pass the end-of-the-day exam will receive a radio license and call sign from the FCC which entitles them to transmit on VHF and UHF Amateur Radio frequencies.
