Dropped a 1 ton brake rotor on my big toe once. Didn't break just changed color like your's did. Did wind up losing the nail on it after a couple of weeks. Went to trim it and it came off in my hand. It grew back, just not quite the same though. That was 8 years ago or so. I get a ingrown nail on it every so often if I don't keep on it.
