Felt i should post this up for some reason, for those of you who don't know i took up a new hobby this past fall (hydroponic gardening supported by aquaculture). Anyway i did a trial for a few months of about 30 gallons and a few trays of plants just to see if i could do it successfully (Tilapia fry, basil, cilantro and green onions). It worked out pretty good so the beginning of last month i built a more serious budget aquaponic garden and axed the original. This one uses a 800gph pump and timer set to water for 15 minutes on the hour starting at 4am and ending at 9pm then one more time at midnight for 30minutes. It's been a full month and i'm having some pretty good results and i've got the water all dialed in and my fish are happy (or as happy as you can be when you're going to be food at 2lbs )
