Anyone in the U.S. want to buy a Track Finder diff lock???
      01/30/12 11:39 PM

I've been looking for a source that will sell and ship the Track Finder diff lock to the Sporty-blokes in the U.S. I finally found an eBay seller who says he can get the part and will ship it to the States. This arrangement is still a work-in-progress. But I believe there's a strong-probability that the seller can deliver the goods. That said, I'm trying to work out a volume-pricing deal to get the price down. As it stands, I'm looking at just over $600 per unit. Yes, I know that sounds high. But if you wan't a solid-means for locking up your rear diff without swapping out the Kia axle for a non-Kia assembly and upgrading that diff with a locker, then I think the Track Finder locker is the most cost-effective way to do it... and we know the Track Finder locker works. I've been pricing out other options, like having a custom ring gear mounting flange prototyped for my other OBX diff (you know, the one that fits the front axle, but not the rear )... or getting a custom locking diff from Kaiser (they don't make them for the Sporty's rear axle, only the front). Both of those options will easily-exceed $700 (though you can get an Eaton clutch-type LSD on eBay for $600... But I'm not keen on a clutch-LSD for serious trail runs ). So, in my eyes, Track Finder is the best lesser-of-evils-guaranteed-to-work solution.

If you are SERIOUSLY interested, let me know on this thread. My plan is to get a number of realistically-interested buyers to take to the seller, use that to establish a more-reasonable price per unit, then get the seller to make the parts available through eBay (I like the idea of buyer-protection, in this situation).

OK - Who's buyin'???
