If you're wheeling in a mud bog, a welded diff will perform excellent.
For Welded FRONT diffs....
You need all 4 tires turning, lots of horsepower, a revv limiter, and boggers.
If you're doing technical stuff on rocks, it's prob not the best. You will have to get in and out to lock and unlock that a front wheel.
With it on the street there is no difference because both hubs are disengaged.
However. I DO NOT agree with welding a rear differential unless it is 100% non street driven vehicle.
What I ultimately suggest is that you torch off the limiting IFS, and replace it with a much stronger system, and put any flavor of locker you would like into it.
