I tested my inductive timing light on my motorcycle and it works fine, so apparently no spark, but I have power at the coil connector on cylinder #2.

Ignition switch. Would this cause a crank but no spark situation? I tore out the old aftermarket alarm on this thing which was a complete hack job into the ignition switch wiring. I've repaired the harness, but who knows what kind of damage may have been done with as bad as the wiring was.

I checked the grounds before posting up. Checked across battery terminals and then battery plus to fender location, frame location, and AC pump location. No drop in voltage so the main ground path is good.

Tested the starter as you described and it turns the engine over better that way, but my battery was getting a bit low from all of the cranking so it's on the charger as I type this. Will try again later if the weather holds.

Battery is new, positive battery clamp is new and I've cleaned connections to that terminal. Ground cable from battery - to fender is new as the old one was pretty bad. I cut the cable from the fender to the battery and installed a new jumper from there.

Checked out the fusible links in the engine bay and all have continuity.
