Probably the cooler lines. They tend to crack and leak under the line wrap woven stuff, usually close to the adapter end. You can get new hoses made easy at a hydraulic shop with a hose crimper. Or the cheap but quite adequate way, take yours off, and use a whiz wheel or hacksaw to cut off the metal crimp at each of the banjo ends, pry the crimp off, and cut off the hose from the banjo nipple. Clean up the nipple with a wire brush (probably hose stuff left on it) and go buy some same size hose for oil and good hose clamps (the kind that the band slips until you drop the thread of the clamp screw into the band grooves are by far superior) and cut up hose and make your own. The fabric wrap is optional. I like bare hose so I can see leaks, but beware an installation position plus engine flex that will rub the hose on something. Or go crazy in the Earls or Aeroquip catalogs...

Before I did anything, I'd clean it all up squeaky clean, put it back together, and run it long enough to get the leak going. Crawl under and use talcum powder (baby powder if you like the smell) and one of those rubber ear syringes, the rubber bulb with the ear canal shaped suction/blow tube molded in, and suck up the powder and dust it all over the area of the leak. Then blow it off gently. You should see definite tracks of the oil leak revealed in the stuck powder. Follow them up and forward, mostly up...

My best bet is hose leak, if it's really spraying, but you may have a porous adapter casting, a leaking cooler thermostat thread, a leaking gauge sender, a leaking copper crush washer on the banjo hoses, a leaking power steering line or pump, the oil pump gasket to the block/pan, or the front seal. Did you pack the spring cavity on the seal with grease before your drove it in? They are bad to have the spring pop out, the the seal won't hold pressure or seal without the spring. The seal lip must be lubed, anyway...

I once bought a Mercedes 280, a 75 model in lovely pure white with a red interior in MBtex and a red stripe on the beltline. It had the old 2.8 M110 I6dohc with a stinkin' 800cfm spread bore Solex liscensed copy of a QUadrajet with about 30 emissions gizmos on it. The car was a dog except off the line until I sorted the carb out (a bent shaft on the mixture needle flappers on the back barrels, like a throttle shaft but used to raise tapered needles in the jets to adjust the mixture to air flow, which moved the flappers. with the shaft bent, the jets hung up and the rear barrels leaned out almost all the way at wot. It probably ran to redline for the first time about 2000 miles after I got it, because it had been owned first by a retired priest with Parkinsons, who never drove it over 40mph. The gasket between the oil filter adapter and the block had been torn on first assembly, just short of leaking. The oil pressure I generated as I happily blasted that medium sized 4dr sedan around the wilds of Alabama finally broke the thin spot. It took me another 3000 miles to track that one down. I hate oil leaks...
