Glad we could be of service regarding inspirations! Can't wait to see it! I've learned that using a rubber or other soft tubing reduces that nice 'howl' noise the intake gets when you cold/ram air it. Best to use aluminum or something. Even PVC pipe does the job. Did PVC on my supercharged regal.. Actually ran it into the driver side fender well: a whole 3" tube. And they can even fit 4" tubes in there as well on the regals. The gains were really noticeable. The sportage is only a N/A 2.0 so the stock intake doesn't seem to restrict much since the engine isn't putting much airflow out. But the sound you can get is still pretty impressive.
