Not knowing just what is giving the discomfort in ride you feel and the roads you are on, Shocks and binding in the springs are a big part of ride quality.
If you are feeling a pogo stick effect that could be the helper spring. If your roads are undulating enough that you get into the helper, this causes an aggressive rising rate in the suspension and the shock can only be tuned for either the soft or the stiff spring. Generally this results in the truck coming back off the helper as if you had almost no shock back there.
