A lot has happened this month. After my last post, we drove the truck about 1500 miles on a round trip to San Diego to look at houses. The fuel pump issue continued, and I traced it down to a loose clip in the weather-pak connector on the howell harness. I soldered/resoldered a couple of connections, and it's good to go.
Yesterday, I went back to Stockton, and learned how to pull apart and rebuild a front axle. I did decide to replace the 3rd members with those containing 4.10 gears. Now I have a fully rebuilt front axle with new brakes, a resealed rear axle and 4.10 gears. The truck runs GREAT, and I feel confident that I can drive it now without fear of the unknown.
Now that the rig is reliable, I'll be focusing on getting the onboard air sorted, the sleeping platform built and my winch buttoned up and installed. I've also got the rear bumper coming, will trim the rear quarters and add rear panel sliders, and am having a new seat pan fabricated. After all the miles I've put on, now, I realize the seat spacers I made aren't what I want them to be.
