An alternator I have in hand is pn- 624-50540 Mits # A7TA2283. This is a 115mm stator alternator, tiny thing but has the 17mm shaft. This came with a 60mm V belt pulley, I am changing it to a multi rib since it now will be on a 1600 Mivec in a track car.
There are other brands that have 17mm shafts as well. On the Mitsu alternators the 17mm shaft can be ID by the nut on the shaft, the 15mm has a nut/washer. The 17mm has a flanged nut.
The 90A alternators will have a 17mm shaft as well but I only know of them with rib belts.
This is the alternator I speak of but on the engine core it has an aftermarket underdrive alloy pulley.
