Joni & I just got back from camping out at Aravaipa Canyon - we camped at the Fourmile camp ground just west of Klondyke.. this is a great campsite! Spent 2 nights there in March and another 2 nights this weekend. No other campers.. and when we checked the register there had been 8 other people through (who took the time to register or camp) since we last visited in March. ... This is at a campground with clean, perfect, unvandalized restrooms flush toilets, sinks with glass mirrors above 'em, even electrical outlets!
Aravaipa Canyon is beautiful with clean clear running water for the first few miles (as it warms up it kinda starts getting the usual arizona river goo... )
Oh, yeah the solid axle.
Holy Crap!! Smooth and steady on the highway, confident and level on highway curves, drastically smoother than the IFS was on dirt tracks, extremely easy to control. I had to check my speedometer frequently because I was getting much too comfortable smoothly gliding down the dirt roads at much higher than prudent speeds.
There's still a little work to do on it, like for example a driveshaft but it safely took us there & back - and every time my paranoid stopped to inspect every nut, bolt & weld there was nothing amiss, nothing loose.. yay!
