Today:
I started the day by pulling the power steering pump from the 5.7 to install a more appropriate power valve for my application. After reinstalling it, I sorted through wiring, got an idea for how I want to lay out the loom and took out the Toyota A/C stuff since we plan to adapt the GM compressor into the system.
For the rest of the day, I tried my hand at fabrication in making a bracket for the Howell computer. I have a new found respect for those who can dream up even these simple mechanisms. I'm generally pretty good at generating ideas, but today I stood around scratching my head for a good 3 hours. In the end, though, I prevailed and got the computer where I wanted it. Tomorrow, I'll pick up where I left off and finish making the holding strap, paint my handiwork, and plug in the connections for the 'puter. I should have some pics to post up on this piece later. Fabrication is straight up challenging (but fun)!
My Viair onboard air kit also arrived today, so I'll get pics of that up once I start the installation. First things first, though...I want a running engine!
