Thanks for the comment. I decided to go with a Mark's adapter from Advance Adapters. The adapter allows everything aft of the adapter to stay in its original position. I'm keep the stock H41 4 speed transmisson. I'll drive it for a while until I recover some of my savings and can get an H55 5 speed.
I got word that the transmission/tcase are back in, and I'll be able to start wiring tomorrow. There's still lots of work to do. In the end, this will have been a very expensive thing to do, but it will be better than anything that I could have purchased for the same relative amount of money. I sure don't like the newer offerings that the automakers have out there for twice as much.
I'm not including too much in terms of product descriptions as that will be part of my virgin tech article and true contribution to the wire.
