Clay, I kind of wondered about the tester leaking. I fiddled with the hose/adapter and noticed that there MAY have been a position that there was a slight leak (basically there are two seals to keep track of). I watched the gauge and timer and noticed that it always held pressure to the 1 minute mark, dropped about 1/4 PSI and then was 1/2 PSI low by the end of the test period. When I left the thing connected for a 6 minute cold run, I lost somewhere between 1/2 and 1 PSI. I don't have the experience to say whether this is "normal" or not.

I'm learning a lot through this process, but I think I'm just going to replace the obvious stuff that needs it after 3 years of non-maintenance (t-stat, fan clutch, hoses), get the radiator rodded or replaced/block flushed, and keep an eye on it. I've REALLY enjoyed just driving it over the last couple of days. I'll watch the coolant "flow" and oil condition. I have to take the rocker cover off to adjust the lash so I'll probably re-torque the head while I'm in there.
