I would think long and hard about either a 350 sbc or a 4.3 conversion. I did one to my FJ55, and never regretted it. I pulled that F head just once, and that weight sounds right. You can build that engine all day long and it's still gonna be an old Chebby weak crank I6, and I bet it still has the siamesed intake/exhaust manifolds, too, that warp out of seal. Advanced Adapters has the parts you need for a bolt in, I betcha...
