My favorite small welders are the miller 18X and 25X welders, then for work 100% duty cycle i like the XMT 350 because of it's size and it does everything. I do like lincolns but i have always felt millers produce a smoother cleaner weld. Now for helmets I use full size glass filter plates and jakson helmets mostly, auto darkening helmets i like are the Optrel the best then the new miller elites, I had the next gen but the hotter they get the darker they get until you an barely see the weld. So they're only good for light welding or tacking things together. I sent it out for warranty because i was having problems with it and they sent it back explaining how it is only rated for 130 degrees and i exceeded that. I then explained how it's already 110+ without welding and the surface of my BLACK helmet is probably already at or near 130 degrees so imagine how much welding it takes to exceed 130. They about told me to go F*** myself, so just because the helmet cost over $300 it's worth about the same as those harbor freight auto helmets. Save your money dude.
