Disappearing coolant - Rad?

About a month ago I started to notice that she was running a little hotter than usual, so checked the coolant level and found it was down by a couple of liters!! (I check levels weekly). She's been losing a steady liter or so a week for 4 weeks now, but I can't see where the water's getting out.
Not quite sure where to start looking to fix it - does anyone know if there are there any common problem areas I should check first?
The truck has been fine in this dept for the 2 years that I've been running it - I think something has failed somewhere.
1986 gen 1 (German Pajero), with a 1987 Montero 2.6 4cyl petrol motor.
