Re: Did anyone get the np231 t-case to work on gen1 auto?

One thing thats over looked is gen 1 autos arn't cable shift they use a linkages which run under and bolt to the stock t\case I've got a whole gen 2 center console and shifter(cable) out off a 92 i'm putting in as my dana 20(bronco T shift) is to wide to even try and make the stock linkage work. I think the 231 isn't as wide as my d20 so you maybe able to make a bracket that the linkage can bolt to. Your gonna have to pick a day once you get the t\case and do a test fit and see what your gonna like brackets, shifters maybe clocking ring etc.

As for fitting a atlas your gonna need at least a 2" body lift or hack the floor, my d20 is alot like a atlas and with the 2" body lift on my green montero it came close to the body i have it clocked pretty close to flat. I wonder if a flipped d300 would fit better since the shifter rails would be on the bottom, so many options and different ways to explore them makes my mind explode.

Anyway np231 seems to be the best fitting t\case other than stock, ghostraider works for a speedometer shop i talked to him about about adapters for my setup and it didn't even faze him so i think he could help you out with your mitsu to 231 swap good luck and don't let fear slow you down.
