Wow! That's a very informative site. 
While it appears that there are a lot of options with the 2.0L, it also appears that none of them can be done quickly.... unless the DOHC non-turbo conversion can be done without much fuss.
That site also seems to confirm that I have the narrow block with the M/T.
Thanks very much - I can see I have a lot of studying to do.
