FINALLY! The V5MT transmission to NP231J transfer case adapter is finished and I installed the adapter/t-case assembly and the vent lines this weekend.

I had to have the entire truck to the shop my Monday so they could get the rear axle rotated, build the second cross-member and see where to put the carrier bearing mount for the front drive shaft. So, I still have to wire in the speedometer and 4WD indicator dash light and install the shift cables and shifters when I get it back later this week.

Everything fit well, though. I still have about three inches between the t-cases and rear cross-member and at least 1/2" of clearance between the floor pan and the bump on the top edge of the t-case. I may dimple the floor pan a little latter when I have the time.

I appologize for the cruddy cell phone pics - forgot my camera again.


Looking from passenger side to drivers side front. The support for the TJ mount and cross member is right in the middle.



Clearance between the rear cross-member and transfer case. I think a belly pan is next.



Assembled and installed transfer case adapter - passenger side. Drain plug allows me to drain the adapter of whatever doesn't drain out the transmission drain.

Driver side to passenger side. The sight tube is visable as well as the low-profile drain plug just even with the bottom of the sight tube.
