The only people that reduced their debt w/the stimulus checks are those that will be dead w/in the next few years. Those of us who don't will have to pay for that money at some point, since it wasn't real money to begin with, just more debt the Fed's decided to create, the same is true w/the new current spending bill. I wouldn't have a problem with it, providing they had a way of paying for it right now, i.e. through spending cut and increased taxes, but they don't. Our current leadership is more than happy to leave the debt to those of us under 60 and future generations to come.

No of course not to us the people, we would spend it the same way that our elected officials do.:o  The budget should be evaluated and determined by PHd level economists, not politicians who are beholden to their constituents. This would eliminate pork barrel spending, feel good social spending, and spending more money than is available.
