The frustrating thing about this whole episode is that I've been out in this area many times before and never came across any water more than 12-18" deep. It's called Cholla Bay, and its so flat that the tide goes out around 1/2 mile, leaving some sandbars that are loaded with seashells & sand dollars that my kids love to collect. I've driven across the runoff channels so many times that I didn't even consider that the water in them might be way deeper this time than it had been in the past.
