My wife gave birth (naturally) 3 times without any drugs. Quite amazing IMHO (bias acknowledged  ). What Les said and you might want to take a book or something in case you find you have to wait around for a long time. Every birth is different in that regard.
The principle thing a baby/child needs are it's parents. You will instinctively know what the best thing to do and when  I always though that if something wasn't common sense it probably wasn't going to help much.
I thought birth was the most amazing thing I had ever seen...well the first time The second and third were amazing too. The one thing I felt, was a strong need to give my new little girl something to eat  After all she had worked pretty hard to get out.
I reckon you'll make a top dad Rich. I wonder how the wiener will take it?!
