I found with the one valet key that I have (just regular ol' key) is that it'll open the doors, but you have to have the key right side up.

Okay, update. My alarm system is NOT the one with the box under the seat and the ijit light on the dash. Just a plain factory install. '99 Runner. This is the other reason you need to make sure you use the correct TSB procedure for programming.

Valet key opens the glovebox.
Both doors will unlock
Rear window will operate up/down
Can start rig

That's with fob laying 30 ft away. Now to try to see if the fob will work with the valet key in the ignition, vehicle running, and try to unlock it with the fob.
