The 3.8L sure would make a nice blower engine for a SWB.

Yes it would.
The front and rear of all the 6G7x engines are the same as far as the block goes.
The heads have different water, intake and exhaust ports for each series, DOHC, SOHC 24V. Oil passages are compatible.
The lower intake on the G75 Galant engine accepts the G72 DOHC NA and Turbo upper intake, same ports. Even clears the COP ignition units as if they planned it.
The oil pump has changed and will be different between FWD and RWD mountings. I can cover these details when needed. The radius of the oilpump to oil sump are not all the same. Oil sump mounting bolts may need to have one or two holes moved.
It takes a bit of mix and matching if you are installing a car engine in a truck.
I used the front accessory and AC brackets from the original DOHC SR engine. One boss on the front bracket needed to be shortened 20mm due to the different water pump mounting on the later style engines. I bet a later SR bracket would go on with no issues.

Now I did use a car engine and all the side mounting bosses were drilled but on some of them, the boss was not cast in the block. Interesting. I used the early steel mount brackets and picked up what I could to get all the needed fasteners. On the top of the passenger side mount I did have to move the center of one 8mm hole while bringing it up to 12mm. I actually buggered this one but it cleaned up at a 1/2" bolt size.

Basically, any Montero/ Mighty Max 6 cylinder can be mounted in a 6 cylinder Monti/truck.
I bet if I was so inclined I could get the dizzy mount from a 12V engine to mount on a SOHC 24V engine. A bit of machining needs to be done to do so.
Why do I keep thinking I am leaving out useful information, I expect I am.
