the 2.2 is a dodge made engine....nothing in common with the mitsu 2.6. chrysler used mitsubishi engines in alot of there cars. IMHO putting a turbo on carbureted engine is very stupid, it is very innefficient and a ***** to tune most times but it is possible. you can get a Australian intake manifold (from a mitsubishi Magna TN or TP). it was a FWD car that came with the 2.6 G54B engine and Mulit-point fuel injection, that is the best way to go. the Starions came with throttle body injection which is pretty dinosaur era technology. I have 2 of these Magna intake manifolds sitting in my basement. they have to be modified and I have not done that yet to them. I am going to keep one in the hopes one day i will own another G54B powered vehicle.
