I sure expected that response from you. I'm sure those vehicles even in stock form don't ride quite equally wonderfully (I' pretty sure Land Cruiser 80 has at least a tiny bit better ride then say CJ ), let alone after SAS with portal axles from VOLVO which are extremely HD axles = extremely heavy + heavy 37 - 39" tires (you can't really put on anything smaller) = poor ride, no matter what you tell.

No not really. Those axles are unsprung weight, and have 0 effect on ride quality. That truck will ride just as it did on stock axles as it will on rockwells.

Quote:

Don't get me wrong I believe you, by your (not everybody elses) standards its ride is wonderful. (just like I feel that my Gen 2 with 33"s rides wonderfully .... until I jump in my Gen 3) Please don't tell me SASed rig would be same as Monty on stock wheels

A sased montero with stock wheels will ride just as nice as a IFS one. I promise you that. If someone put a D30 in their Gen1, and put 31 inch tires on it, and put stock cherokee springs under it.... it would ride just like a stock cherokee. PERIOD.

Quote:

If you find ride and driving acceptable in a vehicle with spool at lease in one axle, you have somewhat different standard for ride quality than average Joe.

My spool is in the front, and does not effect on road drivability one bit.

I will say that my truck rides better now than it did with maxed out IFS. And just about any montero that is running 33-35s has maxed out no downtravel misused IFS is going to ride like butt crack.

I encourage you to take a ride in a solid axle truck, and see if you really think the ride is changed.

Seriously. Come drive my truck(on the interstate, and the trails), and you will understand. My caveman leaf springs ride better than my maxed out IFS ever did with stupid cut down bumpstops, and crap like that.

Look at Mr bishis rig. You think that truck rides bad? I think not.
