Pics of your Gen I Monteros with various rim/tire combos
      #997289 - 04/27/07 03:17 PM

Let's see some pics of your latest modified Gen I Monteros! I am trying to decide what size tire, etc. to go with. I've read all the posts about what fits, etc. I just want to see how some of yours look. I'm going with a M/T of some sort. Either 235/75 , 31X10.5 or maybe a 33X9.5 ? I don't want to change out my stock alloys and I'll have approx 1" of lift is all. Time to show off your Monty

thanks guys!!

How about a 33x10.50? or a 34x10.50. My bro has 31x10.50's on his gen one and with a t-bar crank in the front it looks like you could run a 33x1050 with out problems.

31x10.5x15 on 15x7 rims

Going with 33s on 15"x10" rims next week.

Yes, that is a $20 Tremclad/Rusteolum paint job... nothing but the best for me....

Triple ditto.... But that was way way way back in the day. 31's are long gone now.

I'd post a pic but the truck is 4 hours away. I'm going with 235/85- 16 M/T after my experience with a stillborn FJ40 project. 32" tall 9.5 wide, cheap size compared to 33 x 12.5, much less weight equals better acceleration, better mpg and longer life on CV joints, bearings, etc. These tuck into the stock wells with no lift on the monty but they did require a 2" body lift, t-bar crank, and fender trimming on my pickup. For serious articulation, I'd still recommend the 2" body lift and a small t-bar crank. This size is usually available with an 8 ply rating for better protection against rocks. I had them mounted on 16 x 7 waqon wheels painted with truck bed liner (only the best!) but they're being remounted on 16 x 7.5 Hummer H3 alloys this week. I can give you a killer deal on my rust free 16" steelies. PM if interested.

This pic is about a year and a half old with a 2" body lift and 33x12.5s. I've since added a 2" suspension lift. I've now got room enough for 37s.

I'll see if I can get a more updated picture.

Lloyd does. 90 2 door v6. Needed a 3" body lift and a 2" suspension lift.

I did for the briefest time last night and found I'll need at least a torsion bar lift and a bit of body mods to get it to fit nicely.
