This is my first post, it may be a dumb question. Has anyone ever relocated the heater switch\temp control and made a full size CB fit in it's place? (1992 Cherokee) Perhaps moved it down to replace the ash tray. Would the hole be deep enough for a Johnson Messenger 123? Or, has anyone ever made a long connecting cord between the removable faceplate of a radio and the unit, and installed the faceplate in place of the ashtray, so a CB could go in the dash in place of the radio?

Most of the guys I wheel with opt for the smallest CB they can get, and then just mount it under the dash. All hose bels and whistles on the bigger CBs are just junk anyway. Radio shack makes a nice small one for about $55.
A much more important consideration is antenna loction.
