Harness Blocks from under engine on a 96 Rodeo
      #975449 - 02/23/07 10:34 AM

I need help with reverting back to OBD1.

There are three harness blocks that come from under the motor on the drivers side. One connects into the 94 OBD1 main harness, but not sure if I can trust that they have the same pin outs. I am assuming this is the tranny harness and that one of the other blocks is from the O2 sensors, but haven't traced the them or looked through the wiring diagrams to decode the wires. Does anyone know what blocks are what?

THE PINS LOCATIONS ARE DEFINATELY NOT HE SAME FOR THE TRANS OR THE ENG, EVEN THOUGH THE PLUGS ARE ALLMOST IDENTICAL. ,DO YOU HAVE AN EARLY MODEL ELECT MANUAL , YOU ALMOST NEED TO HAVE BOTH THE 96-97 AND THE 95 AND PRIOR MANUAL, ALL THE 93-95 ENG WIRING IS THE SAME AND THE 96-97 IS THE SAME , JERRY

I have a Haynes repair manual that covers all the wiring, but I am beginning to doubt the accuracy of the manual as when I decoded the OBD1 ECM, there were a few wires that were not accounted for.

I went to the dealership and they were really cool about photocopying the 94 shop manual, but they did not have the 96 wiring diagrams.

I found 96-97 wiring diagrams posted on someone's site, which I shared with this forum in a different thread, but the Haynes and that wiring diagram had the same colored wires going to different places.

I'm not sure which to follow, so I was hoping to find another dealership that is just as cool as the first that has the 96 shop manual. I assume that would be the most accurate one to follow.
