I had new tires put on my Monty, in signature 31x10.5x15. The shop put 35 lbs all around. The door sticker say 26 front 35 rear. What are you all running in your? By the way it handles real good with the 35 lbs, on the street that is.

I used to follow the door sticker, but have stayed at 35lbs all-around for years. I like it better.

I keep 40 in mine all year, I air down for off road/sand/snow. Compared to the door it feels like you gained like 50hp, much much less rolling resistance. You also get better MPG!

On the other side of the coin, you could read the max inflation pressure at full load and divide to see how many lbs. per PSI your tire likes. Your truck weighs about 4,ooo pounds, for examples' sake. Inflate the tire to support 1,000 pounds per tire to the mathmatically derived value.
I ran 28 psi in the front and 34 psi in the rear when I was using the BFG All Terrain 31x10.5's (50 psi tire). With the 33x12.5's I currently have on my Raider, I'm running 26 front and 30 rear. This lets the front have a little more grippy feel and the rear some load support for my tools and tool boxes. I've noticed 0.5 mpg difference (as indicated by an uncorrected odometer) between the BFGs on black steel wheels and the 33x12.5s on alloys. My recent driving is mixed use - highway 50%, street 25%, dirt 25% with some hills and hubs locked stuff.

Grip, are you talking about on the road? Even at 40psi I think that even in the rain if I crank the wheel all the way it will roll ovver before my tire run out of grip and understeer. But I havn't tried it

I run ~22-25 psi F/R on 33x12.5's. If I run any more than that, the rubber only runs on the center tread... Yoko Geo M/T+'s
It's what I need for even wear. Higher PSI definately help hiway runing mpg etc, but it's an M/T, it wasn't designed to compete with a low profile racing tire. If you want hiway performance, maybe an M/T isn't the right tire.

I drive some local twisty-windy roads FAST when I can. You'd be surprised to drift a Montero/Raider, but it's possible. I think I get the inside front wheel off the road in some corners. Anyway...

I've been running 35 psi in all my tires since the gas prices started to skyrocket. Oddly, my wear pattern hasn't changed. Still wearing very evenly.

From my adventure getting stuck I rode around for a week at 20 PSI in all 4 and it really wasn't bad, but tonight I aired back up to 36 PSI all around. When I take them in to get balanced and roatated I am going to look into maybe changing the PSI I keep them at. I love the little hummmmm they have to them, but if its becase 36 PSI isn't enough (though I doubt it) I will step it up.

IMO it all is what you are comfortable with driving them at. I air down to about 12psi in the front and 15 rear when I hit the trail and dont have any problems whatsoever and then run at 35psi on the road. I go up to about 45 in the rear when towing just to carry the load. But experiment with what is the most comfortable and go with that.
