I've posted this in the tech section as well so please accept my apology for the double post.
I recently had my 95 Trooper in the shop for the above problem, which only happens when the engine is up to temp. and & primarily under load. The following is exact verbiage from the work order:
The problem "Multiple cylinder misfire codes current"
The solution "Both valve covers leaking oil onto exhaust manifolds. Spark plug tube seals leaking engine oil into spark plug well causing spark plugs to overheat.Spark plug wires are soaked with engine oil.Replaced both valve cover gaskets, spark plug tube seals, spark plugs and wires."
I had the work done about a week or so ago & now the problem is rearing it's ugly head again. I'm heading to the shop after work & I was hoping the Isuzu pro's on this board could throw a few ideas as to what the problem might be. I don't post often, however, when I do the info is dead on!!
Thanks for any help you can offer & Happy New Year!!!

Again I apologioze Rob....it was not my intention to offend anyone. I'll keep the posting rules, which I neglected to read, in mind next time.
Where would you suggest I post a topic such as this in the future????
The "talk" forum has almost as many mechanical problem questions as the "tech" forum.
post in "tech" forum was removed.
94redrodeo.......The plug wires were changed by the shop. There is a check engine light, however, I'm not sure that the shop knows what the heck they're talking about so I'm a little skeptical about their diagnosis.
Thanks

No need to appologize, and I'm not offended... the guidelines are in place to keep things orderly... something you'll learn over time here. As it mentioned, most of us (including myself) read both forums, Tech and Talk equally. Make your best stab at where your topic belongs... if it could go in either arena, you're not going to get barraged for picking the wrong one.
Most mechanical/diagnositic problems belong under Tech (including this one). The important thing here isn't choosing the category, but avoid double posting. It may take some time to get a response, but be patient, we have a lot of knowledge and friendly people here... basically, repeatidly posting a topic isn't going to yield a faster response.

Well, now that I've explained all that, I should also explain our search feature... its worth its wait in gold! your answer is out there (this is a common problem):
This thread has a copy of the TSB SB96-01-L005 Isuzu issued regarding your problem:
Oil in Sparkplug tubes......... 3.2

Thanks for the link Rob.
I've tried the search feature in the past & was never really sucessful, I'll work on my technique for future problems.
Wouldn't the oil leaking into the plugs issue have been solved by the gaskets being replaced and the other work done, regardless of the plug wires????

not necessarily. if you are using an orginal style plug (this includes aftermarket sets I believe) instead of the new ones referenced in the TSB, it doesn't matter that you have new valve gasket, it isn't going to seal correctly. the plugs are the cause of the problem. the new ones have a seal at the base the orginal ones lack.
If it was me, I would forget what your mechanic did... and go get a set of the new style plugs reference in the TSB straight from Isuzu... look up St. Charles Isuzu here online and they're treat you right if you don't want to deal with your local stealership.

Got ya'.
I will check the plug wire #'s & make sure they're aftermarket. Shouldn't the shop have access to bulletins like this, or are they only available to the "stealerships"? It drives me nuts to have paid $60 for wires when they won't solve the problem.
I've ordered parts from Jerry in the past & you're right, they treat you very well!!!
