thanks all! its a 91 4x4 with a 5 spd. has a 2.4l with 271000 miles, which leads to a couple more q's...
i did a compression check that went from 105 to 130#. im thinking thats kind of low, that the motor is about done. my neighbor has a mid 80's 2wd with a 2.0 motor with only 130000 miles. can i bolt the 2.0 into my truck and use the fuel injection? basically use his long block and all my accessories. what about the bellhousing? will mine bolt to the 2.0 or the 2.0 bell to my trans? i imagine ill have a bunch of questions in the near future and would appreciate the help. thanx!

He's on the right track already. The 2.0/2.4 bellhousing won't bolt to the 2.6 block, which is unique I think, and he has a 5spd with a non-removable bellhousing. A 2.4 with Eclipse 2.0 turbo stuff would be real nice...
