Can anyone suggest a good torque wrench? I am on a budget, so I can't really afford a top of the line model. I am looking at Craftsman, Kobalt, or Husky. Any thoughts? I'm pretty sure that a a 1/2" drive 150 lb model would be sufficient for my needs. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Go with the Craftsman; if they break or get badly dropped where you don't trust it anymore, you can take it back.
This is a good all-around, esp for drivetrain/suspension
1/2" dr, 20-150 ft-lbs
I also have the 3/8ths one.
I see they're on sale

This is the one you really want...
And for only $468, it's a bargain!

Thanks for the help. I've heard that craftsman torque wrenches only have a 90 day warranty, which is not a good thing in my opinion. I've always bought craftsman mechanics tools because of the warranty, but when you look at that link under product specs it even says 90 day warranty. That makes me lean toward kobalt or husky because of better warranties. Not sure though.

No doubt. That is just a hair over my budget though. lol. My poor old rig is not worthy of a tool like that! What is that? A proto?

Fair enuff I s'pose. Nope, not a proto, it's what they sell. BTW, 52dg is a GM mechanic, so he can write that stuff off.
Get whatcha want and take care of it--some folks with tight purse strings I always suggest also to rent what they can't buy to get thru until they can.
Our little rigs are worth what care we can give 'em, esp with shops running at $80/hr these days.

I can't afford to buy a house, so I don't get to write anything off
That was a Snap-On TechWrench. I have one of the 3/8 drive torque only versions. That one is torque and torque-angle. Very trick. And well worth the money if you turn wrenches for a living.
$80 per hour is a bargain around here. The shop I work for charges $95.

Yeah, the GM guys up here are the same rate; I expect everyone to jump some for fuel...I think I'm forcasting $1200 for fuel this winter if we don't see a post-holiday drop-off, even if temporary.
Yeah, torque angle; friend has one; they're ver' trick.
