Got my axle hung today. It's a Dana 44 off a '78 Grand Cherokee. I've got 4.88's in it and 33" Pro Comp muds on stock Isuzu rims. Still plenty of room for 35's, but that's after these wear out. Sorry to say that I can't brag about having an ARB in there. Still have a few more things to go yet: SOA and re-gear the rear end, finish the steering, re-route the exhaust, find a driveshaft, cut down crossmembers, and on and on. Good times...

Looks good, except for one question. Front axle placement. Are you going to trim the fender/bumper? By the looks of it, if you don't, it'll hit it quite easily.

I second that.... Joe still isn't happy with what I did to his bumper due to tires
Looks great though, good approach angle!

Looking Good
What springs did you end using, the Ranchos? I like the height you got out of the SUA.
Keep us posted.

looks like fun. Looks like the shackles are up front. I would be interested to see if they end up getting hit on anything.

with the shackles forward and the tires moving forward during compression, you may have to flat-fender that thang. I dig it for sure though. what springs are you using?

Thanks y'all. I'm using the Rancho 44044's. Regarding the shackles, they're actually longer than they will be when finished. I wasn't sure how long to make them, so I just made them extra long with the anticipation of shortening them as needed. Regarding the fenders, they'll be getting chopped this weekend. I'll try and get a few more photos up when I get a chance.

definitely a lot easier to trim forward than cut into the firewall/tub area. Placement may be a little far forward if only running 33"s, but its definitely leaves room to expand into the bigger tires without much modification... I think the placement is spot on (spoken from someone who's redone his SAS to move the axle furthur forward).
