ok i lifted the jeep 3.5in after the lift we did a garage alignment and when i hit the road on the stock tires everything was fine. put the 33's on and at 45 mph i get a wobble in the front that reminds me of an out of ballance tire. i have checked the ballance on all 4 tires with one of the new machines that measures the ballance as well as the wheel and matches them to make sure the tires are ok. the tires are fine we checked them twice on 2 diff machines. so..... what is the problem? im going to have it aligned this afternoon and am thinking the caster is off so we are installing cams on the upper control arms. am i on the right track? what else should we be looking for?

ran it up on the alignment machine this afternoon. the caster is at 4.5 which is .5 out of spec. the factory calls for a caster of 5 to 7.5. i am going to install some cambolts to bring it back in line. all in all everything looked good. the only other thing i can think of other than the caster is maybe one of the tires is out of round even though the ballancer dosn't find any problem. who knows, any ideas? btw the jeep is an unlimited so it has longer driveshafts than a normal tj, the lift also included some longer lower control arms and i am not getting any driveshaft vibrations. thanks for all your ideas keep them comming.

Try rotating the tires, though it could be as simple as the front control arm not being super tight.

I just had the same problem on my 97 ZJ and it might be the same. On my truck it ended up being the trackbar bracket on the frame. What happened was that the hole in the bracket toward the frame side had hollowed out because when I first had the truck aligned the "jack@ss" at the shop did not fully tighten the trackbar to the bracket. I to went through the entire process, re-ballance tires 2 times checked every control arms and bushings etc. And it ended up being something as simple as just replacing the bracket.

My brother has a 95 ZJ that had the "Death Wobble" his truned out to be a sticky caliper. Sounds crazy but I can see that if one is sticky it could jerk the truck like crazy, his did.

Has anyone tried Kevins adjustable Trac bar replacement yet? I am thinking of trying it to see if it will fix my problem. All the ball joints are good, I replaced the trac bar bushing with the updated bushing, and fixed the sway bar links. It is allot better, but it will still sneak up on you when you aren't expecting it. I am running 33 Super Swamper TSL's. These shoes are allot different than the radials it HAD on before. Although even with the radials it had the same problem, just not as bad.
