I have just received my complete suspension lift from Indy 4x. There is a note in my box that says "For proper installation of this Superwinch manual hub conversion, on auto hub applications, the use of a 26 mm or 1 1/16" c-clip (not-included) is needed to retain hub body on the stub shaft.
Isuzu part #9-09180-028-0"
I have tried searching the internet, but I guess I just dont know where to look. Any insite on where to find this part would be appreciated.
By the way, I sure hope I am able to get this lift on. I am mechanically declined.
Thanks

Really though, how much simiplier does it need to get? matt went through the trouble of including the exact info of what you needed with your hubs... have you picked up a phone and called your local isuzu dealership and read them that p/n? it should be that simple.
sorry if this sounds harsh, maybe i'm singling you out, but it seems lately there are a lot of people out there that want info spoon fed to them. The board is here as a resource, but not to do your projects for you. learn to search! This information is very common, it could be easily found, why waste the space?

NAPA or anyplace else which sells automotive hardware should have it. It's just a 26mm external snap ring.
I waited a long time to make my conversion to manual hubs because this is my first 4x4 and I'd never had a hub apart before. Once you start taking it apart, it's pretty straightforward - you'll do fine. Just make sure you have lots of rags for the grease!
One note...the referenced c-clip goes in a different location than the one holding on the auto hub. The auto hub clip is at the very end of the axle. When you get everything off, there is a groove about 1/8" in on the larger diameter splined section of the axle, that's where the 26mm clip goes.

Rob, Thanks for your reply. If it seems as though I am trying to get spoon fed, I apologize. Maybe it is because I am a mechanical baby that I like the spoon. Anyway, I tried searching the net for about half an hour. I know so little about the subject that I don't even know where to look. I am sorry if you find my ignorance annoying. Truly. As far as calling my local isuzu dealer...the closest one to my house is 2.5 hours away. That is why I was hoping I could be pointed to an online source, or perhaps a chain store that could help.
Thanks for your time.

understandable, of course many dealerships will be glad to ship parts to you. people out of state call St. Charles Isuzu because of the good discounts they give the board members.
and again, matt supplied you with not just the isuzu p/n but the exact dimensions of the c-clip. its like asking where to find a 3/8" bolt. go to the hardware store and get one, don't post a thread to see whether to go to lowes or home depot.
sorry if you think i'm being an , just trying to get people to think before they post up. it sucks to have good tech get burried by the gobs of "how to crank tbars" (or whatever) threads.

Rob, I think you overestimate my knowledge on cars. Yes, I do understand that Matt was kind enough to give the dimensions of the c-clip. What you don't understand is that, until now, I thought it had to be a special c-clip. I did not know that any c-clip with the given dimensions would do.
The bottom line is that if I were to rate my vehicle IQ, on a scale of 1 to 100, it would be about 12. Most people on this board have vehicle IQ in the 90s. I have never been taught about cars. My father knew little about cars and did not teach me a thing. I have never had the priviledge of having friends that are mechanical. I am not lazy nor stupid. I am just trying to learn.
I am not upset by any means, I just want those of you with high vehicle IQ's to have a bit more patience with those of us who are just trying to learn. Ancient chinese proverb, "He who ask question, learn."

bad day eh rob? i think that was a little harsh for a newbie. Give the guy (girl?) a break. A couple years ago id be like "wtf are these numbers for? wtf is a c-clip?"
Its like a teacher holerin at his kids for not knowing stuff. We are here to teach, not put them down. Hey smac55 if you have ANY questions give me a private message and ill gladly help without hesitation. I understand the newbie thing.
